Celeb Babies

The Story Behind Celebrity Baby Names

You might have noticed that celebrities tend to go overboard in everything they do. An important part of their life which gets affected by their behaviour is the name of their children. This is not necessarily a bad thing because many celebs come up with some unique baby names which people adore. In fact, it doesn’t really matter if we like them or not; a more important side of the story is the meaning and inspiration for such interesting names.

Brooklyn Beckham is a good example of an unusual name and it belongs to the son of David and Victoria Beckham. The child was born in 1999, making him one of the first celebrity babies who drew attention thanks to his name. Brooklyn is not just the part of New York which Victoria likes; it is also the place where her child was conceived. The name might have sounded peculiar at first, but everyone has gotten used to it by now.

Coco is the name of Courtney Cox’s and David Arquette’s child. There are two possible explanations for this decision. It might have something to do with the famous designer Coco Channel, but other sources say that the real reason behind “Coco” is the fact that this is Courtney’s nickname. Either way, the name is pretty unique and interesting.

When Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth, she had a clear idea regarding the best name for her baby: Apple. This name is great in its simplicity and it comes from the innocent aspect which an apple brings, at least in the eyes of Gwyneth.

There are some celebrities who like to keep their baby’s name classic. One of them is Charlie Sheen, who has a daughter who has a unisex name: Sam.

In the case of celebrities, baby names come from some interesting sources. Anything from the location of conception to seasons, flowers and even fruits is acceptable. Besides this, many celebrities are willing to name their offspring in a completely unique way, simply by inventing a name which sounds attractive. This is a common case and sometimes it works, while other times it delivers questionable results.
